What You Need to Know About Removing Chewing Gum?

Chewing gum is one of the most irritating substances, particularly to clean. Gum leaves quite a mess on carpet fibers, upholstery, fabrics, and hard surfaces. Most of the time, when removal is attempted, fabrics and surfaces are left stained; or worse, gum residues are left tarnishing the appearance of the surface. The most efficient method for removing chewing gum from a host of surfaces is gum removal steam cleaners.

This gum removal equipment uses a combination of high steam temperatures, up to 360ºF, and simultaneous vacuum extraction to remove chewing gum faster and more efficiently than any other type of machine, method, or chemical on the market.

The use of high steam temperatures is necessary to soften and dissolve gum on contact while sanitizing the surface. Some steam cleaners for gum removal even come with anti-bacterial technology to kill 99.9% of bacteria and other disease causing pathogens. The use of such machines will not only provide the utmost in gum removal capabilities, but will allow the user to disinfect the area once tarnished by gum and corresponding bacteria.

Vacuum extraction is another necessary feature for gum removal equipment. Machines that do not extract while cleaning will leave the loosened gum residues on the surface. These residues can become embedded once again, defeating the purpose of cleaning. But, through the use of extraction, gum removal equipment will vacuum up all gum residues left on surfaces to ensure surfaces are left gum-free.

For the most effective results, it is important to combine a chewing gum removal solution with the advanced cleaning power provided by steam cleaners. This tremendously increases removal rates, up to 500 pieces in an hour with the right piece of equipment.

Schools, movie theaters, airports, trains and train stations, subways and subway stations, gas and service stations, hotels and motels, amusement parks, stadiums, arenas, hospitals, office buildings, shopping malls, retail stores, grocery and convenience stores, and more all face the grueling task of gum removal to ensure their facilities are clean and safe for employees and customers. Additionally, the clean appearance of these facilities is also often necessary for the success of the business.

For these businesses and organizations to experience the highest productivity in removing chewing gum, the best machines are steam cleaners with specialized chewing gum extraction kits. This type of gum removal equipment can remove gum residues from concrete, brick, sidewalks, walkways, driveways, parking lots and structures, pavers, buildings, buses and other public transportation vehicles, cement, granite, tile, and more.

Previously gum removal was a discouraging task, which was often not met with the right blend of power and temperature to get the job done right. This resulted in left-over residues and stains. Now, virtually every business and organization can keep their facilities clean with specialized gum removal equipment.

Parents and Children With Autism – Have You Seen a Good Movie Recently?

Children with autism (and children with many other diagnoses) can have sensory sensitivity issues which make it hard for them to enjoy going out to see the latest Hollywood blockbuster with their family. They may not like being in the dark theater. The sound system may be too loud and overwhelming. They might not be able to sit in one place for the length of a feature film. They can’t keep themselves from making noises or saying things (usually loudly) which disturb other patrons.

One nation-wide cinema complex and one autism organization joined forced to provide special screenings of first run movies in a sensory friendly environment. While this particular adventure made the news, there are a growing number of local movie theaters and local agencies putting together similar experiences. If this is something you need in your area, consider putting together a proposal for either the theater management or local organizations specializing in children’s interests.

First, tell both the theater management and the local organization what’s in it for them. Do some research and find out how many potential patrons a special viewing of a current move might bring into a theater. For example, the local school boards can tell you how many children are receiving special education services and accommodations. Search the local paper, yellow pages and community directories for organizations for special needs. In Maryland, the parks and recreation departments initiated the discussions with local movie theaters for special screenings.

Second, show them a marketing plan. Each of these organizations have their own newsletters, websites and email lists to get the word out about the special movie event. A press release sent to the local paper will at least generate a blurb in the community interest section or a listing in the calendar of events. An editor or reporter might decide it is a good human interest story and write an article. This advertising doesn’t cost the local theater any money. Yet the potential revenue, exposure and goodwill will be invaluable to them.

Third, negotiate with the theater management some of the following things:
A date and time for the showing A current family friendly movie A special rate. The matinee price. An even better price would be nice. Educate the management about how costly special needs can be. A good price will not only attract the child or adult with special needs, but their paying parents, siblings, caregivers, etc. Food. Ask the management to either allow parents to bring in food for special diets or sell food which will meet a vast majority of the special diets. (They can’t go wrong with selling gluten/casein/sugar free products.) The management may be surprised at how much concession stand sales they’ll generate just by having a special showing and price. Environmental issues. Make sure the lights are kept on during the entire movie, the sound is turned down to a comfortable level, and the kids are not only allowed, but encouraged to take movement breaks and make noise. Surprisingly, just knowing they are not constrained seems to help kids. Most of the people in the theater will be aware of and understand the needs of the children. Ask a member of the management to stand in front before the movie and explain all the special provisions and rules for this special screening.

If the initial special movie showing is successful, consider asking the theater to schedule this regularly. Some locales have opted for one a month and others have decided upon a quarterly basis. Something like this is a win-win-win for everyone.
